How to get items in game

items can be found in item chests, shrines of chance or terminals.

Common Items 2

There are a total of 30 common items. They have the highest percentage change to drop in game. This makes them essential to building a strong base to have a solid run. Common items have a 79.2% chance to spawn from a small chest, this is the same percentage as a cloaked chest, and a 63.06% change to spawn from an adaptive chest. They can also be purchased from a Multishop terminal or found in a small category chest.

Unlockable Common Items

There are a total of 8 common items that need to be unlocked. This is how to unlock them

Tougher Times: die five times
Paul's Goat Hoof: three times in a row fail a Shrine of Chance
Crowbar: find a total of ten common items
Medkit: defeat an elite monster
Bundle of Fireworks: using the 3D printer, duplicate the same item seven times in a row
Backup Magazine: charge a teleporter without getting hit
Rusted Key: defeat a teleporter boss in under 15 seconds.
Armor-piercing rounds: charge a teleporter
Old Guillotine: defeat 500 elite monsters

Uncommon Items

There are a total of 31 Uncommon items that players can obtain. These items are harder to obtain than the common items and more powerful. There is a 19.8% chance to find an uncommon item in a small chest. Uncommon items have a 80% chance rate when opening large chests as well as large category chests. Much like the common items, uncommon items can also be purchased at multishop terminals. Uncommon items also have a 27.03% chance to be found in adaptive chests. lastly, uncommon items can be found in the rusty lockbox which spawns when a player has collected the Rusty Key Item.

There are seven total unlockable uncommon items. Here is how you can unlock them:

Legendary Items

There are a total of 28 Legendary items that players can pick up. These items have modifiers that are much more powerful than common and uncommon items but at the same time are much harder to come by. The chance of a legendary item spawning from a small chest is only 0.99%. Their chance of dropping increases to 20% if a player opens a large chest which is the same chance as a large category chest. Players have the choice to pick a legendary chest which is $400 and will guarantee a legendary item. These chests are also very rare to spawn and only come after the 4th stage.

Unlockable Legendary Items

There are eight Legendary Items that you can unlock. Here is how to unlock them:

N'kuhana's Opinion: find the alter to N'kuhana
Unstable Tesla Coil: deal 5,000 damage in one shot
57 Leaf Clover: complete 20 stages in a single run
Sentient Meat Hook: loop back to the first stage
Soulbound Catalyst: discover and activate eight unique Newt Altars
Dio's best friend: stay alive for 30 minutes
Brainstalks: defeat an elite boss on monsoon difficulty
Rejuvenation Rack: reach and clear the third stage without healing

Boss Items

There are a total of 16 Boss items in the game. These items can be acquired by players by defeating the bossess that spawn when activating a teleporter event to move onto the next level. Each of the items that have the ability to drop from defeating a boss provides a unique ability that relates to the boss that has just been defeated. These boss items can only be obtained by defeating the specific teleporter boss.

Lunar Items

There are a total of 18 lunar items in the game. These items introduce both powerful modifiers as well as drawbacks which can make them extremely situational. Unlike common, uncommon and legendary items, lunar items can not be acquired through opening chests. Rather these items can be found by visiting the Bazaar Between Time or finding Lunar Pods that are scattered through the worlds and purchasing them with Lunar Coins. Lunary coins are dropped from defeating enemies with a 0.5% chance of dropping. Since these coins are hard to obtain averaging 200 enemies to obtain one coin, they carry with you between games.

Unlockable Lunar Items

There are four lunar itms that need to be unlco*ked. Here is how:

Gesture of the Drowned: kill 20 hermit crabs by chasing them off a cliff
Glowing Meteorite: obtain five lunar items in a single run
Helfire Tincture: kill 15 enemies simultaneously
Strides of Heresy: kill 15 bosses in one run

Void Items

There are a total of 14 void items that can be found in the game. These items can only be found if the Survivors of the void expansion pack has been purchased. Unique to void items is the ability to "corrupt" other items. When picking up a void item, its linked item of common, uncommon, legendary and boss rarity will also count towards the total count of void items. These items much like void items can not be purchased from chests and will need to be found throughout the worlds in void cradles.

Equipment Items

There is a total of 27 standard equipment items in the game. Unlike the previous items which are passive in nature, equipment is active and must be used by the player to see the benefits. Since equipment acts like another ability and needs to be triggered by the player, they are limited to holding one piece of equipment at a time. If a player tries to pick up an equipment item while already holding an equipment item, they will simply swap out their currently held equipment. Much like the players abilities, equipment has a cooldown which must reach zero before the player is able to use the equipment again.

Unlockable Equipment Items

There are eight unlockable equipment items.

The Back-up: repair 30 drones or turrets
Royal Capacitor: defeat all teleporter bosses after activating two Shrines of the Mountain
The Crowdfunder: collect $30,480 gold total
Gnarled Woodsprite: fully upgrade a Shine of the Woods
Preon Accumulator: open the timed security chest in Rallypoint Delta
Radar Scanner: collect ten monster or environment logs
Eccentric Vase: defeat the boss of the Gilded Coast without any lanterns going out
Blast Shower: die three fiery deaths

Lunar Equipment Items

There are only 4 Lunar equipment items. Much like the Lunar items, Lunar equipment can only be acquired by visting the Bazaar Between Time and finding Lunar Pods that are scattered throughout the world. Lunar equipment while powerful in the advantages provided, has severe drawbacks that balance out the power much like the other Lunar items above. Players must take into consideration the negative drawbacks to ensure that the Lunar Equipment does not end their run.

Elite Equipment Items

There are a total of 7 Elite equipment items in the game. Much like the equipment and Lunar equipment, Elite equipment has to actively be used by the player to experience the benefits. Similar to boss items, elite equipment allows the survivor to possess similar abilities to that of the elite enemies. Also similar to boss items, Elite equipment can only be found by defeating Elite enemies. There is a 0.025% chance that Elite equipment will be dropped when defeating an elite enemy. This means that on average 1000 Elite enemies will have to be defeated to drop 1 Elite equipment item. It is possible to increase the chance of Elite equipment dropping by increasing luck through picking up items like 57 Leaf Clover.
