Who is the man I see
Where I'm supposed to be?
I lost my heart, I buried it too deep
Under the iron sea
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Lines ever more unclear
I'm not sure I'm even here
The more I look the more I think that I'm
Starting to disappear
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong
I don't where I am
And I don't really care
I look myself in the eye
There's no one there
I fall upon the earth
I call upon the air
But all I get is the same old vacant stare
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong

My Opinion
I think this is the best song on Under The Iron Sea, and my favourite part is definitely the chorus. Very different. Very fun to sing on SingStar as well xD

About a man who's lost and looking for any means of a way to get him back on the right track so he can be the person he used to be?I like this song, it has a nice beat to it

hes looking into the future wanting to know if things will be alright, at the moment he seems to be lost.seems as if he just needs someone or something to reassure him that everything will be alright. he wants to feel like he did before when he was sure of things, right now hes just lost.

agreed, im having trouble getting into this album, i think its one of those one's you've got to listen to a few times to really start to get it, you start to enjoy it more with farmiliarity. But i think its very different from hopes and fears. This is my favorite song off the album thus far. But i think this song is anything but juvenile, it's obviously about confusion and ambiguity in life. Dont we all wish we could look to some sort of crystal ball to lead us through - it's relatable

The first time I heard Crystal Ball I didn't really like it, but after a few listens I LOVE IT. I definitely like the verses better than the chorus in this one... both the 1st and 2nd verses of this song are wonderful... especially the climax,
"I don't where I am,And I don't really care,I look myself in the eye,There's no one there.I fall upon the earth,I call upon the air,but all I get is the same old vacant stare."

Keane are surely one of the biggest if not the biggest sceptical band around at the moment underlined with lines like "i'm fading out" "everything i know is wrong" "not sure i;m even here" Yes Keane you are here!

Jesse with the long hair.... Robert Earl Keen, Jr. Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's. Grand Theft Auto Insane Ian The way this song speaks to me🥺🥺when I sing it I feel like I relate Light Up The Sky Van Halen The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp Led Zeppelin This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping. Mountain Song Jane's Addiction Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it.""There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."Rate These Lyrics
