Reimagine Middle Branch envisions a transportation network that increases connectivity throughout South Baltimore to the rest of the City — something long-called for by South Baltimore residents. The Plan seeks to address this disconnectivity, created by a decades of inequitable planning practices, by connecting neighborhoods to assets and overcoming the barriers that exist today, all while supporting the industrial uses essential to Baltimore’s economy.Achieving a network of connectivity involves a range of strategies in order to accommodate all users, including trains, truck traffic, bicycles, and pedestrians.These strategies include:-A system of new and expanded multi-use trails connecting neighborhoods, parks, and the shoreline.-Identifying a set of priority streets for “Complete Streets” improvements to enable all modes of traffic to coexist safely.-Supporting established plans for Transit Oriented Development (TOD), particularly near light rail.-Identifying future locations for water transit service.Learn more about how Reimagine Middle Branch plans to create a new network of connectivity and get a closer look at ongoing programs, including incorporating Baltimore City's 'South Baltimore Complete Streets' plan, upcoming opportunities, and projects we have in motion on our website.
