How to book a wedding appointment. To book an appointment at City Hall, you must first apply for a certificate of marital status. When your application has been approved, you will receive a link to the booking system. Here, you can choose between the available dates and times for your ceremony yourself.

You must obtain a marriage license in the town where the marriage ceremony will take place. Both parties must appear in person to be sworn in and sign the marriage license. Both parties must present a current government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.

If you are going to an in-person appointment, here's the full step-by-step instructions on the procedure. In short, it costs $35 (credit card or money order), you both need some form of valid photo ID (like a passport or driver's license), and you must obtain the license at least 24 hours before getting married.

You must make an appointment in advance. You can come to our window during business hours or telephone us at: 732-634-4500, ext. 2700. You must obtain your marriage/civil union license from a Municipal Registrar of Vital Statistics in accordance with the law.

Couples must bring a witness 18 years of age or older to obtain their marriage license. Money. The application fee for a New Jersey marriage license costs $28.

There is no waiting period in Connecticut. People who want to elope can get married on the same day they get their license.

If you are planning to marry in Connecticut, you must obtain a marriage license from the vital records office of the town where the marriage will take place. Who can marry you in the state of New Jersey? Current or retired judges, mayors, country clerks, and authorized ministers of religion may perform marriage and civil ceremonies.

The State of Connecticut requires a ceremony. Please contact a local Justice of the Peace or legal officiant to marry you. (Connecticut Town Clerks are not permitted to perform this function.)

Keep it legal

In Connecticut, those able to perform weddings include judges, magistrates, justices of the peace, and ordained or licensed members of the clergy. Unless your buddy Tim happens to be a judge, odds are whoever you have performing the ceremony will have to become a minster through an online service.
