TO SELECT YOUR
PERFECT ENGAGEMENT RING
STEP 1.
Select Your Style
Did you know 98% of women would rather be surprised than choose their own ring?
One can never go wrong with one of the following classic styles.
Angel Halo
No Halo is complete without an Angel. A timeless classic, this halo setting features our signature maker’s mark . A symbol that your love is real, and that she is the most precious person in your life.
The halo design is often depicted as a galaxy, with the centre diamond as a star. "You are the centre of my universe."

My True North

STEP 2.
Select Your Precious Metal
When it comes to white metals, we prefer crafting our rings in 950 pure platinum. Though it is more difficult and expensive to work in platinum, we do this because it is intrinsically white meaning it never loses colour. This gives the wearer the benefit of service-free wear.
“That Steven personally chose this ring meant the world to me. I love it and wouldn’t change it for anything.”
Margaret Rose
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
There is nothing romantic about dragging her off ring shopping.
STEP 3.
Select Your Diamond Shape
There are many diamond shapes, each unique and beautiful in their own way.
TOLKOWSKY’S ROUND BRILLIANT CUT
Traditional & classic, she is sure to love this popular shape
Famed diamond cutter, Marcel Tolkowsky, was a friend of our family who discovered the precise mathematical calculations to bring out the brilliance of a diamond. The now famous Tolkowsky cut offers the best scintillation or sparkle.
TEARDROP
The Browns Signature shape
Inspired by the shape of her tears in her most joyful moments.
OVAL
Old World charm
Most diamonds were originally cut according to this shape. It harks back to the old world, a traditional shape for those who appreciate a by-gone era.
PRINCESS
Fifth Avenue chic
This square cut is ideal for the urban, ambitious woman about to take over the world.
HEART
For the hopeless romantic
A symbol of love and passion, heart shape diamonds also indicate an adventurous nature.
MARQUISE
Graceful and sensuous
Louis XV commissioned his jewellers to create a diamond shape that best represented the lips of his lover, the Marquise de Pompadour. This diamond cut is now known as the Marquise shape. Madame de Pompadour was known as a purveyor of the arts. She was considered to be one of the first activists for women’s rights. This shape symbolises sensuality and power.
EMERALD
Sophisticated and elegant
Emerald shape diamonds are elegant due to their long, sophisticated lines. It is said that wearers of emerald shapes are relentlessly confident and pure of heart.
STEP 4.
Select Your Diamond Size
Did you know that less than 2% of the world’s diamonds qualify to be a Browns diamond?
Diamond size, also referred to as carat, is actually a diamond’s weight. When cut, weight and size is perfectly aligned that qualifies a Browns diamond.

Diamonds with a poor colour grade can appear slightly yellow instead of the desired brilliant white.
Clarity
At Browns we only accept diamonds with a clarity of SI2 and higher, ensuring that we do not compromise on its beauty.
Be careful of a diamond with a poor clarity grade, excessive inclusions directly affect the brilliance.
Cut
Browns diamonds are cut to maximise brilliance - intense brightness of light. Cut refers not to a diamond’s shape but to a diamond’s proportions, symmetry and polish.
A diamond should be properly cut and proportioned. This means that the diamond polisher must place each of the stone’s facets and angles, which act as light dispersing mirrors, in exact geometric relation to one another.
